Does the copper coil cause weight gain?

My doctor recommended a copper coil for long-term family planning. I am generally concerned about my weight and don't want to add anything that might cause me to put on more kilos. Does anyone know if the copper coil leads to weight gain?

The copper T is completely non-hormonal, so scientifically it doesn't cause weight gain like hormonal pills do. Any weight change is usually due to other lifestyle factors or stress. However, if you feel bloated, it might just be mild water retention or pelvic discomfort in the first few weeks.

Since copper coil has zero hormones, it shouldn't affect your metabolism at all. If you are feeling heavy, try to focus on light walking and basic exercises daily, provided your doctor has given you the green light after insertion. Keeping active always helps with period bloating.

In our times, copper T was very common and none of my friends put on weight because of it. If you feel heavy or have cramps, try drinking warm fennel seed water in the morning. It helps soothe the stomach and reduces bloating naturally.

I got the copper coil last year and honestly, I had the same worry! But my weight didn't change at all because there are no hormones in it. Just make sure to eat healthy and don't stress, it is a very safe option.
