Does tagrisso cause hair loss?

My mother recently started taking Tagrisso for her lung cancer. Her hair has started thinning quite a lot, which is making her very self-conscious. Is hair loss a common side effect of Tagrisso?

Yes, hair thinning or mild hair loss is unfortunately a known side effect of Tagrisso. It happens to many patients on this medication.

It can cause some hair thinning, but don't lose heart! Using a very mild baby shampoo and a wide-toothed comb really helped my relative. Sending you lots of strength and positive vibes! ✨

Yes, hair loss and skin dryness are common with Tagrisso. Focus on keeping your scalp hydrated and avoid any chemical treatments or hair colors for now. It is best to manage the side effects practically while continuing the treatment.

As someone who deals with hair thinning due to hormonal issues, I know how emotionally taxing this can be. Tagrisso can cause hair loss because of how it targets cells, but please discuss this with your oncologist before trying any supplements, as they can interfere with your cancer therapy.

It is true that these strong medicines can affect our hair, as the body redirects its energy to healing. Try to practice gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom to keep your stress levels down. Caring for your scalp with natural coconut oil can also bring some comfort.

My sister has been taking Tagrisso for her treatment. She did notice her hair became quite thin and dry after a few weeks, but thankfully she did not lose all of her hair. It has been manageable with gentle care.
