Does sumatriptan cause hair loss?

I take Sumatriptan for my severe migraine attacks, and it usually helps a lot. However, I've also noticed increased hair shedding recently, which is quite concerning. Can Sumatriptan cause hair loss as a side effect?

Haan, rare side effects mein hair thinning likha toh hota hai, but generally headache relief ke liye log ise short term hi lete hain na. Toh utna hair fall nahi hona chahiye. Tension mat lo.

At this age, my hair leaves my head even if I just look at a medicine bottle! Sumatriptan is for migraine attacks, which we take occasionally, so it shouldn't cause major baldness. Don't worry, save your hair for other midlife crises.

I have taken sumatriptan for years with zero hair fall. It is a very safe medicine for migraine relief.

Do not let fear weaken your mind. Migraines are very painful, and if this medicine helps you find peace from pain, accept it with a positive heart. Your body will heal, just take care of your peace.

Honestly, migraine itself ruins productivity more than any side effect. I use sumatriptan occasionally and haven't noticed any hair loss. If you are taking it daily, you should consult your neurologist anyway to prevent medication overuse headaches.

I read the entire leaflet of every pill and get super anxious. Hair loss is listed as a very rare side effect of triptans. If you are noticing major hair fall, maybe ask your doctor if it is because of migraine stress itself.
