Does suave shampoo cause hair loss?

After switching to Suave shampoo on a friend's recommendation, I feel like I'm losing more hair in the shower. I saw some posts online about it. Does Suave shampoo cause hair loss for real?

I used to panic every time I saw hair in the drain and read so many scary things online about shampoos causing baldness. Suave contains sulfates which can be harsh and dry out your scalp, leading to breakage. Try switching to a mild, sulfate-free shampoo to see if your hair fall reduces.

Any shampoo with heavy chemicals can weaken hair roots if not washed out properly. Just dilute your shampoo with a little water in a mug before applying, and don't wash your hair with very hot water. These simple changes help a lot with hair fall.

My dermatologist explained that standard shampoos like Suave generally do not cause active hair loss unless you have a specific allergic reaction to their ingredients like DMDM hydantoin or sulfates, which can irritate the scalp. True hair thinning is usually hormonal or stress-related.

I used Suave for a few months when I was staying in a hostel, and it made my hair super dry and prone to breaking. I switched to a basic gentle shampoo and started oiling my hair weekly, and the hair fall stopped completely.

I was losing a lot of hair last year and blamed my shampoo, but it actually turned out to be a severe vitamin D deficiency and hard water in my new flat. Once I fixed my vitamins and got a shower filter, my hair fall stopped, even while using the same shampoo.
