Does stroke cause nerve damage?

My brother had a severe stroke and is having a lot of weakness and numbness in his left arm. The doctors mentioned some nerve involvement. Does stroke directly cause nerve damage, leading to these issues?

Yes, a stroke is essentially a brain injury, so it very commonly causes nerve damage and numbness.

Yes, it damages the brain's nerve connections. While gentle daily massages with warm herbal oils can help improve local circulation and sensation, you must consult a neurologist for any severe pain or sudden weakness.

A stroke does affect the delicate nerve systems of our body. Please stay positive, keep a calm mind, and believe in the body's natural power to heal itself over time. Take care and support them with patience.

It really can cause nerve damage, which is why people feel numb or weak on one side. But don't stress too much right now, our brains are amazingly resilient. With regular physiotherapy and some patience, people make really great progress.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to deal with nerve tingling or loss of sensation after a medical scare. It is true that a stroke causes nerve pathway damage, but please remember that rehabilitation works wonders and things can improve significantly.

I get so anxious reading about nerve issues because it feels so permanent. A stroke definitely damages the brain cells which control your nerves, causing tingling or weakness. But please stay strong, with proper therapy and time, many nerves can adapt and recover.

Yes, stroke disrupts the neurological pathways, leading to neuropathic pain or weakness. I've tracked my father's daily rehab exercises on my phone, and consistent physical therapy is absolutely the most effective way to help the nervous system rewire itself.
