A lot of fluctuations in my weight have been happening recently, alongside significant work pressure. Some people say stress makes you gain weight, while others say you lose it. So, does stress cause weight gain or loss?

Yes, it absolutely can do both, depending on how your body reacts to pressure. Some people lose their appetite completely and lose weight, while others tend to emotional-eat and gain weight due to high cortisol. Don't worry, just focus on taking care of yourself step by step.

Honestly, it goes both ways! When I am stressed during exams, I either end up ordering pizzas late night or forgetting to eat altogether. Just try to breathe and don't stress too much about the scale right now, your body is just reacting to the mental load.

For me, stress means zero sleep and constant midnight snacking, so it is definitely weight gain. I wish I was one of those people who forget to eat when they are stressed, but my brain apparently thinks cookies will solve my life problems.

Please be very careful with sudden weight changes during stressful times. I thought my rapid weight gain was just due to stress-eating, but it turned out to be a severe hormonal imbalance that required medical treatment. Please consult a doctor to get a full blood panel done.

When I noticed unexplained weight loss during a stressful project, I went straight to a good hospital to rule out other issues. The physicians there explained how stress hormones alter our metabolism. I highly recommend discussing your specific symptoms clearly with your doctor.

Stress affects the body in complex ways. In my experience with high blood pressure, stress led to poor sleep and weight gain around the belly. Regular health checkups and making lifestyle changes like cutting down on salt and sugar are absolutely necessary.

It is actually so annoying, yaar! Whenever I have crazy project deliveries, I either lose weight like crazy because I skip meals, or I blow up from stress-eating junk. Our bodies literally react to stress in the weirdest ways.

My physician explained that stress triggers the release of cortisol, which can increase insulin resistance and lead to fat accumulation, especially in the abdominal area. Conversely, high adrenaline can sometimes suppress appetite, leading to weight loss. It depends entirely on individual biology.

Completely agree, stress messes up your weight both ways. Drinking warm water throughout the day helped me curb my nervous stress-snacking.

It can go either way! Some people lose their hunger, while others become best friends with chocolate and chips. I always tend to gain a bit when work gets crazy. Just focus on happy, healthy habits and things will balance out!
