Does stress affect pregnancy?

My husband and I are planning to start a family, and honestly, work has been very demanding. My friend told me that too much stress can affect pregnancy. Is this true, does stress really impact conceiving or carrying a baby?

Yes, high stress can affect both you and the baby, sometimes even leading to sleep issues or blood pressure changes during pregnancy. When I was expecting, my doctor told me to stay away from stressful situations and focus on resting. Please make sure to speak openly with your gynecologist about your mental well-being.

I was actually reading a health article about this recently, and it said that chronic stress releases hormones that can impact prenatal development. It is amazing how much the mother's mental state affects the little one. It is definitely something to keep in mind.

I totally get it, carrying a baby while managing life's pressures is extremely overwhelming and stressful. High stress can definitely impact your physical comfort and peace during pregnancy. Please try to delegate tasks, take deep breaths, and let others help you right now.

High stress is known to raise blood glucose levels, which is particularly risky if you are dealing with gestational diabetes. If you are pregnant, managing your stress is just as crucial as managing your daily diet to keep your sugar levels stable.

Stress can affect pregnancy, which might lead to extra doctor visits or blood tests that can strain your budget. To prevent this, it is better to plan your finances early and focus on a stress-free environment to avoid unnecessary medical expenses.

In our family, elders always say that a pregnant mother must always be kept happy and calm for the baby's health. While their traditional advice is beautiful, I also trust my doctor who confirmed that stress can affect maternal blood pressure. It is best to follow professional medical guidance.
