Does strattera cause weight gain?

My doctor put me on Strattera for my ADHD, and I've been quite conscious about my weight lately. Some medications can cause weight changes. Does Strattera cause weight gain, or is it generally weight neutral?

I was actually prescribed Strattera recently but I am so scared of gaining weight because of my past struggles. Has anyone actually experienced weight gain on this, or is it mostly weight loss? Please let me know, I am really nervous about starting.

I can only share what happened in my case. When I was on Strattera, my appetite actually went down significantly, and I lost about 3 kgs over three months. I definitely didn't experience any weight gain, but everyone's body is different.

Nahi babu, is dawa se wazan nahi badhta hai, balki isse bhook thodi kam ho jati hai. Humare padosi ke ladke ko doctor ne yeh dawa di thi, uska toh wazan thoda kam hi ho gaya tha. Aap chinta mat kijiye, sab thik hoga.

According to most clinical data, Strattera is actually more associated with appetite suppression and weight loss rather than weight gain. I track my daily calories and steps on my fitness app, and I noticed my daily food intake naturally dropped when I was on it.

I freaked out when my weight fluctuated by 2 kgs in the first two weeks of starting Strattera. But later, my doctor explained it was just my eating schedule adjusting to the medication. It quickly normalized, so don't worry about gaining weight.

Haan na, actually most people lose their appetite on this medicine. Weight gain is very rare with Strattera, but if you feel you are gaining, it could just be water retention or change in routine. Better to ask your doctor once to be clear.

For managing weight, eating timely meals and drinking warm lemon water in the morning is always best. However, since this is a strong doctor's medicine, any sudden weight changes should be reported to your doctor immediately instead of trying to manage it at home.
