Does stopping wegovy cause weight gain?

On Wegovy for a while, it has really helped me manage my weight. I'm wondering what happens once I stop taking it. Does stopping Wegovy cause weight gain, and is it common to put the weight back on?

It is very natural to worry about gaining back the weight you worked so hard to lose. Wegovy helps control appetite, so stopping it can make you feel suddenly hungrier. Just take it slow, work closely with your doctor, and build sustainable eating habits.

Let's be real, if you stop Wegovy and go back to your old eating habits, you will gain the weight back. The drug suppresses your appetite, so once that effect is gone, your hunger returns. You need a solid lifestyle plan to maintain the loss.

Managing weight is crucial for keeping my blood pressure in check. Medications like Wegovy are great, but they are not permanent cures. You must focus on a low-salt, balanced diet and regular checkups with your doctor to make sure your parameters stay safe after stopping.

I can only speak from my personal journey with these weight loss injections. When my prescription ended, my intense cravings came back within two weeks, and I gained back about half of what I lost. It takes a lot of mental effort to manage portions afterward.

I was reading about this because a close friend of mine is planning to stop her treatment soon. Her doctor told her that weight rebound is common unless you transition to a strict calorie-tracked diet. It's tough, but totally doable with proper support.

Man, my appetite came back like a monster after stopping! It's like my stomach was trying to make up for lost time. Honestly, keeping the weight off without the medicine requires way more energy than I currently have, but we have to try.
