Does spironolactone cause hair loss?

My doctor recently prescribed spironolactone for my hormonal acne. I've been reading up on the side effects, and some people mentioned hair loss. Should I be concerned, does spironolactone cause hair loss?

Actually, it is usually prescribed to treat hair loss in women, yaar, especially for PCOS-related thinning. It blocks DHT hormones, so it should help grow hair, not lose it. But everyone's body reacts differently, so talk to your doc.

Hey, don't worry. Spironolactone is actually commonly used by dermatologists to stop female pattern hair thinning and promote growth. Sometimes there can be temporary shedding when you first start a new hormone-related med, but it stabilizes. Stay calm and give it some time.

Bro, my sister took spironolactone for her severe cystic acne and hormonal hair thinning. It actually helped her hair become thicker after about 4 months of regular use. She didn't have any extra hair loss from it, so it should be fine.

Spironolactone is meant to reduce hair loss by blocking certain androgens. While taking it, make sure you are also feeding your hair with iron-rich vegetarian foods like spinach, beetroot, and pumpkin seeds to support healthy growth from within.

Beta, ye sab hair loss ki dawaiyan thoda soch samajh kar hi leni chahiye. Maine suna hai ye mardana hormones ko thik karne ke liye hoti hai, isse hair fall kam hota hai. Apni doctor behan se achhe se salah le lo, woh sab thik kar dengi.

As someone taking BP medications, I know spironolactone is originally a blood pressure medicine that has hormonal side effects. It is generally used to reduce hair loss, not cause it. Make sure you get regular blood pressure checks while on this medicine.
