Does solifenacin cause weight gain?

My mother recently started taking solifenacin for a bladder issue. She's concerned about her weight, and she asked me if this medication could cause weight gain. I'm not sure what to tell her.

Honestly, weight gain is not a very common side effect of solifenacin. It's usually prescribed for overactive bladder and mostly causes dry mouth. Just keep an eye on your water intake and basic diet, you should be fine.

I have seen many people on our forum discuss this medicine. While it doesn't directly pack on the kilos, the dry mouth it causes makes people drink tons of sugary juices instead of water, which leads to weight gain. Stick to plain water and you'll be perfectly safe, dear.

Ab kya bole, at this age even looking at water seems to add weight, haha! But seriously, I've been on solifenacin for my bladder issues for six months now. No extra weight gained from the pill, though my lazy evening walks are definitely the real culprit.

I just finished a three-month course of this last month. I was super worried about putting on weight too because my cousin told me all these pills do that. But trust me, my weight didn't change even by half a kilo. Just stay active.

Beta, mere pati bhi ye goli khaate hain unki takleef ke liye. Unka toh vajan bilkul nahi badha, ulta woh ab thik se so paate hain. Aap chinta mat karo, sab accha hoga aur bhagwan pe bharosa rakho.

Oh god, I panicked so much when my doctor prescribed this! I read some random forum and thought I would balloon up, so I almost stopped the medicine. Thankfully my doc cleared it up—it is totally safe and there was no weight gain at all.

Dekho yaar, seedhi baat hai. Solifenacin bladder control ke liye hai, weight badhane ke liye nahi. Agar thoda vajan upar niche ho raha hai toh diet check karo, dawai ko bina wajah blame mat karo.

These English medicines can sometimes disturb our body's natural balance. I always drink lukewarm water with coriander seeds to help with bladder warmth naturally. If you feel sudden weight gain or swelling in your feet, please don't ignore it and show your doctor immediately.

Please don't listen to people online saying 'this herbal tea will cure your bladder' or that this pill causes obesity. Everyone's body reacts differently to chemical formulations. Take your prescription sheet back to your doctor and ask them directly if you have concerns.
