Does sodium lauryl sulfate cause hair loss?

I've been very careful with my hair products after noticing some hair fall. Someone told me to avoid shampoos with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). Does sodium lauryl sulfate cause hair loss, and is it really that bad?

Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) is a harsh chemical that disrupts the natural oils of our scalp. Practicing simple pranayama improves blood circulation to the head, but we must also avoid these chemical-heavy shampoos. Using natural hair cleansers will keep your hair healthy.

My teenage daughter was losing so much hair and we realized her fancy shampoo was loaded with SLS. We switched her to a mild, sulfate-free baby shampoo and started a regular coconut oil massage. Her hair is much stronger now, so do check the ingredients.

I recently had a dry, itchy scalp and lots of hair breakage because of SLS in my daily shampoo. Once I stopped using it and switched to an organic, sulfate-free shampoo, my hair fall stopped almost completely. Definitely give it a try.

I get so worried checking shampoo bottle labels, and SLS is in almost everything! It doesn't cause direct baldness, but it can dry out your scalp and cause breakage, which is still scary. Swapping to a gentler shampoo really helped calm my anxiety.

At 50, my hair is already saying goodbye, and using SLS shampoos just speeds up the process! It is basically a detergent that strips your scalp dry. Switch to a milder shampoo unless you want your forehead to look wider very soon.

SLS is just a cheap surfactant used for heavy lather. It is too harsh for most hair types and causes dryness, leading to breakage. Do yourself a favor, throw out your SLS shampoo and buy a decent sulfate-free one. Direct and simple.

Beta, these chemical shampoos with SLS are a modern invention that ruin your natural hair oils. In our days, we washed hair once a week with simple reetha or shikakai, and our hair stayed thick even in old age. Try to go natural.

I panicked so much when I read online that SLS causes hair loss and baldness! But my doctor reassured me that while it can dry out your hair and cause some breakage, it won't actually damage your hair roots or cause permanent hair loss. Just use a conditioner.
