Does sodium laureth sulfate cause hair loss?

I'm trying to find a good shampoo for my thinning hair. I read an article that mentioned Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) as a potential cause of hair loss. Does sodium laureth sulfate really cause hair loss?

Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) is a foaming agent in shampoos. While it doesn't directly cause hair follicles to die, it can strip away natural oils and dry out your scalp, leading to irritation and breakage. Try switching to a mild, sulfate-free shampoo.

SLES is basically what makes shampoos lather up so well, but it can be too harsh for sensitive scalps. While it doesn't cause baldness directly, dry hair breaks much more easily. Try using a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and oiling your hair weekly.

These modern chemical shampoos are too harsh for our hair roots. SLES is just a chemical for soap foam. In our times, we washed hair with reetha and shikakai, which kept the scalp healthy and hair strong without any hair fall. Try switching to natural herbs.

While my focus is mainly on a clean diet, external chemicals do impact our body. SLES can cause scalp irritation which might lead to hair breakage. Eating nutrient-dense foods like walnuts and spinach is just as important as choosing a gentle, chemical-free shampoo.

Bhai, I had major hair fall last year and realized my shampoo had too much sulfate. It was drying out my scalp like crazy, causing breakage. I switched to a basic sulfate-free shampoo, and my hair feels much softer and healthier now.

I had severe scalp dermatitis and hair loss because of using harsh chemical shampoos with high SLES content. I had to consult a dermatologist for a medical solution. If you have intense itching or sudden hair patches, please see a doctor immediately.

With our busy work routines, we don't have time for long hair care steps. But avoiding shampoos with SLES is an easy swap to prevent dry hair and scalp irritation. Look for sulfate-free labels next time you buy a shampoo, it saves a lot of trouble.
