Does sodium cause weight gain?

I've been feeling a bit bloated and noticed my weight fluctuating. I also eat a lot of salty snacks. Does sodium cause weight gain, or is it mostly just water retention?

I totally understand how stressful it is when you step on the scale and see the weight go up suddenly. Don't worry, sodium doesn't cause actual fat gain, it just causes your body to hold onto extra water. It usually goes away in a day or two.

Honestly, after eating instant ramen at night, I wake up looking so bloated! That is just the high sodium holding onto water weight. It is not permanent fat, so don't stress. Just drink a lot of water the next day to flush it out.

Sodium itself does not contain calories, so it cannot cause real fat gain. However, high-sodium vegetarian foods like processed pickles, papads, and namkeens can cause water retention. Try to focus on fresh, low-sodium meals for a healthy body.

High sodium intake causes temporary water retention, making you look a bit bloated. If your health permits, going for a brisk 30-minute walk and sweating it out is a great way to shed that extra water weight naturally.

Our body holds onto water when we consume too much salt, which is a natural process. Stay positive, eat fresh and simple foods cooked with love, and let your body find its natural, healthy weight. Take care of yourself.

Excess salt causes water bloating, which shows up as weight gain. You can drink coriander seed water or barley water to help reduce this bloating. However, if you have sudden, severe swelling in your feet, please consult a doctor immediately.

I ignored constant bloating and sudden weight fluctuations, thinking it was just water weight from salt, but it turned out to be related to my blood pressure. Please get a proper medical checkup if you face constant bloating and weight issues.

I used to feel very heavy after eating salty foods, so I started drinking warm lemon water daily, which really helped reduce my bloating. Limiting extra salt in cooking and avoiding processed foods is the best way to manage this naturally.

Arre haan, sodium se instant weight gain lagta hai scale pe, but woh actual fat nahi hota, bas water retention hota hai, samjhe na? Fast food khane ke baad body paani hold karti hai. Don't worry, simple ghyar ka khana khao aur thik ho jayega.

Let's be clear: sodium has zero calories. Any immediate weight gain after a salty meal is purely water retention, not fat. Cut down on processed junk, keep your hydration high, and the scale will drop back to normal in 24 hours.
