Does smoking weed cause weight gain?

I've heard mixed things about weed and weight. Some say it increases appetite, some say it affects metabolism differently. Does smoking weed cause weight gain?

I have gained almost 5 kgs in the last two months because of late-night munchies after smoking. Does this happen to everyone else too, or is my metabolism just completely ruined?

Our bodies are beautiful temples and they respond to what we feed our minds and senses. If you find your weight fluctuating, focus on breathing exercises and eating clean, natural foods with a peaceful mind. Take care of yourself.

Don't blindly believe people on forums saying weed is a weight control tool. If your weight is changing unexpectedly, please get your thyroid and sugar levels checked by a doctor instead of guessing based on internet theories.

Look, weed is known to trigger the appetite centers in the brain, commonly called munchies. If you end up eating high-calorie snacks every time you smoke, you will definitely gain weight. Try keeping healthy snacks around or consult a nutritionist if you can't control it.

I was actually reading up on this because some friends say it makes you thin, while others gain weight. Apparently, it stimulates hunger hormones which makes you overeat junk, but it varies from person to person. Quite confusing!
