Does smoking weed cause hair loss?

I've been noticing more hair loss lately, and I'm a regular user of weed. Is there any scientific evidence or common knowledge about this? Does smoking weed cause hair loss?

According to my dermatologist, chronic cannabis use can disrupt the endocrine system and elevate cortisol levels, which can trigger a hair shedding phase called telogen effluvium. It also reduces capillary blood circulation to the hair follicles, leading to thinning.

I noticed my hair getting really thin and dry when I was hanging out in smoky rooms. It really does damage your hair quality and causes shedding. Try incorporating a good amla hair oil and cutting down on the smoke, it really helps!

Yes, smoking weed affects blood flow to the scalp. Instead of buying expensive hair serums, just stop smoking, do daily head massages to improve blood circulation, and include iron-rich foods like spinach and beetroot in your diet.

When you have high blood pressure, your blood vessels are already under strain, and smoking weed just worsens scalp circulation. Make sure you get your BP checked regularly and adopt a smoke-free, healthy lifestyle to protect both your heart and hair.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Hair loss can happen due to a million reasons like weather or bad water too. Just try to limit the weed, sleep on time, and see if it makes a difference. I'm sure it will clear up.

While weed can contribute to hair loss, it could also be due to hereditary pattern baldness or iron deficiency. It is always safer to consult a qualified trichologist or dermatologist for a proper diagnosis.

High toxin levels from smoking show up in bio-trackers as increased stress and lower heart rate variability, which is closely linked to hair thinning. Tracking your hydration and quitting weed will definitely help restore follicular health.

I am new here and a bit shy to ask, but my hair has started falling out in clumps recently. Does smoking weed also affect female hormones and cause hair loss in women, or is it only a male issue?

My mother always says that using home-made hibiscus oil helps with hair growth, but my doctor made it clear that no external remedy works if you keep smoking weed. Trust your dermatologist and stop smoking for the sake of your hair.
