Does sleep heal the body?

These days I'm feeling so tired all the time, even after sleeping for 7-8 hours. My grandmother always used to say that a good night's sleep can cure anything. Is it true that sleep actually helps the body to heal itself?

Absolutely, it does. Whenever my kids fall down and get bruised, or catch a fever, I make sure they sleep as much as possible. You can literally see their recovery speed up after a long nap.

Good sleep is the cheapest medicine available, it costs nothing. Before spending on multivitamin tablets and supplements, just try sleeping 8 hours daily and see how your body heals itself.

I always worry that if I don't sleep exactly 8 hours, my body will get damaged. But our bodies are actually very resilient and heal even during short naps. Try to relax your mind.

Sone se sab thik ho jata hai bhaiya. When we sleep, our body gets the strength to fight illness. Eat a simple dinner, sleep early, and you will wake up strong.

Yes, sleep and a light sattvik diet are the two pillars of healing. When you sleep, your digestive system rests and the energy is used to heal tissue wear and tear instead.

Haan bilkul, sleep is the best healing mechanism na. When we sleep, our body is basically doing a full servicing of all our organs. Sleep well and half your health issues will go away.

It is so true. When I was going through a very low phase, my body was constantly aching and exhausted. Prioritizing my sleep was the first step that made me feel physically and emotionally whole again.

With my thyroid condition, my body gets tired very easily and sleep is when my hormones balance out. However, if you feel tired despite sleeping a lot, do get your thyroid levels checked.

Sleep does heal, but don't just rely on sleep if you have a persistent pain or symptom. I once thought a constant backache would go away with rest, but it was a slip disc. Get checked if things don't improve.

In my seventy years, I have seen that those who sleep well stay healthy and active for longer. Sleep is God's natural way of keeping our body repaired and fresh. Never compromise on it.
