Does skyla iud cause weight gain?

I got the Skyla IUD inserted a few months ago, and since then, I feel like I've put on some weight, especially around my stomach. I'm not sure if it's related or something else. Is weight gain a common side effect of the Skyla IUD?

I have been reading so many forums about Skyla causing weight gain and now I am super anxious about getting it. Some people say it's just water retention, but it is so scary to think about. Just want to say you are not alone in worrying about this, maybe ask your gynac to be safe!

I totally get it, worrying about body changes after getting a medical procedure can be so stressful. Some women do experience a little weight fluctuation initially due to hormones. Please be gentle with yourself and discuss your concerns with your doctor.

It can cause mild water retention or bloating for some women, but major weight gain is uncommon. Try to give your body a few months to adjust and consult your gynecologist if you feel uncomfortable.

At my stage of life, even looking at a glass of water causes weight gain! Hormones can definitely play tricks on your body and cause some initial bloating with these devices. Don't stress too much, just consult your doctor to see if it suits you.

Honestly, blaming my IUD for my late-night biryani cravings is my favorite hobby! While some hormonal shift can cause slight bloating, actual massive weight gain from Skyla is pretty rare. Don't worry too much, just keep an eye on your snacks!

With PCOS, hormonal changes can react differently for everyone, so I always advise being cautious. While Skyla has a low dose of hormones, it can still cause minor weight fluctuations in some individuals. It is best to discuss your specific medical history with your gynecologist.
