Does singulair cause weight gain?

Taking Singulair for my asthma for a few months now, and I feel like I'm gaining weight. Is weight gain a common side effect of this medicine, or could it be something else?

Humare yahan doctor ne jab asthma ke liye Singulair likhi thi, toh thoda vajan badhne jaisa laga tha. Par aap chinta mat kijiye, har kisi ka sharir alag hota hai. Ek baar apne doctor saheb se pooch lijiye, woh sab thik kar denge.

According to the literature, weight gain is not listed as a common side effect of Singulair (montelukast). When I asked my doctor about it, he mentioned that any weight changes are usually due to concurrent steroid inhalers or lifestyle changes. Definitely get a professional opinion before stopping it.

Actually, it is quite rare to gain weight from Singulair, yaar. Sometimes it just increases appetite a little bit, or it could be some other medication you are taking along with it. Better to talk to your doc and clear your doubts.

For respiratory issues, drinking warm turmeric milk and doing steam inhalation helps a lot naturally. But if you are on Singulair, don't stop it on your own just because of weight worries. If you feel any sudden chest tightness or breathing trouble, run to a doctor immediately.

Slowing down and practicing daily pranayama has helped my breathing immensely over the years. Medication like Singulair is sometimes necessary, but shouldn't cause significant weight gain. Keep your body active with gentle yoga stretches and consult your doctor about any side effects.

I have been using it for a while and haven't noticed any major weight gain. Try not to worry too much. If you feel uncomfortable, a quick chat with your doctor will put your mind at ease.
