Does sertraline cause weight gain?

My doctor recently prescribed Sertraline for my depression. I'm very concerned about gaining weight, as I've struggled with it in the past. Does Sertraline typically cause weight gain?

Beta, these modern medicines can affect your body's natural balance. While you must consult your doctor about weight changes, you can focus on light home-cooked meals and walking regularly to keep your digestion active. Do not make any sudden changes without medical advice.

In my experience, managing mental health is far more crucial than worrying about a few extra kilograms initially. Many times the weight stabilizes once you feel better and start moving more. Trust your doctor and give your body some time to heal.

Weight toh thoda badhta hai isme, ho na. Because when you feel happy and relaxed, appetite automatically increases. Just check with your doctor for proper dietary guidance.

Please don't stress about weight gain right now; your peace of mind is the absolute priority. We can always manage the diet and exercise part later. Keep your doctor updated on how you are feeling.

At my age, even drinking water feels like it adds weight, so these medicines definitely don't help! But honestly, being peaceful in the head is worth a slightly tighter waistband. Just laugh it off and have a word with your doctor.

Actually, it can increase your cravings for sweets, yaar. But it is totally manageable if you are mindful of your food. Definitely consult your doctor if you see a big jump on the scale.
