Does selsun blue cause hair loss?

I've been using Selsun Blue shampoo to help with my dandruff issues. It works for the flakes, but I'm concerned if it might be causing hair loss. Does anyone know if Selsun Blue leads to hair fall?

It can cause temporary hair shedding if you use it too frequently and don't wash it out thoroughly.

I was so terrified when I saw extra hair in the drain after using Selsun Blue, I literally cried! But after researching, I found it's just because the shampoo is very strong and dries the scalp. Try using it less often and it should get better, don't worry!

Don't waste money on expensive anti-hairfall clinics just yet. Selsun Blue is strong, so try reducing its use to once a week, which also makes the bottle last longer! If hair fall still continues, then plan a basic dermatologist visit.

Sometimes our body reacts to harsh chemicals when it is already stressed. Try to stay calm, wash your hair mindfully, and maybe give your scalp a gentle break from strong shampoos. Take care of yourself.

I completely understand how alarming it is to see your hair thinning while trying to treat dandruff. I went through the exact same panic with Selsun Blue. It is highly likely just temporary dryness from the active ingredient, so take a deep breath.

Yes, it can cause hair breakage because it is highly drying. Just make sure to apply a good conditioner only on the hair ends after using it.

I had bad dandruff and used Selsun Blue daily, which made my hair fall out in clumps. I recently recovered by cutting it down to just once a week and using a mild baby shampoo on other days. My hair is back to normal now.
