Does scalp massage cause hair loss?

I love getting head massages, but my friend joked that too much scalp massage can lead to hair loss. Is there any truth to this? I don't want to accidentally damage my hair.

No, it doesn't cause hair loss unless you do it way too hard. Just be gentle with your fingers.

Haan na, starting me mujhe bhi lagta tha scalp massage se hair fall badhta hai. Actually, jo hair already weak hote hain wahi nikalte hain massage ke time. Just be very soft with your hands and don't panic.

I used to panic seeing hair in my hands during champi. But my mom told me those are just loose hairs that were going to fall anyway, so don't worry, the massage itself isn't pulling out healthy hair.

At this point, even looking at my hair in the mirror feels like it causes hair loss! Honestly though, light massages are fine, just don't let anyone do those intense, painful salon champis that pull your roots.

We have been doing oil massages in our family for generations. It only causes hair fall if your scalp has some fungal infection or if you pull too hard. Otherwise, it is a very good habit for healthy hair.

I always use warm coconut oil with a few curry leaves for a light massage, which works wonders for dryness. But if you see sudden, heavy hair loss or bald patches, please don't rely only on these home tips and consult a doctor immediately.

My grandmother always insisted on a weekly hot oil champi to stop hair fall. However, my dermatologist clarified that while gentle massage is good for circulation, we should avoid it if we have active dandruff or scalp infections. It is best to balance traditional wisdom with medical advice.

I used to think my hair was falling because of daily head massages. But when I went for my routine health checkup, my doctor pointed out that my high stress and blood pressure were the real culprits. Get your basics checked first.

Keep your mind calm and don't let fear take over when you massage your head. Treat it as a relaxing ritual to release stress, and do it with gentle love; a peaceful mind naturally keeps our body and hair healthy.

I faced this exact doubt last year. The key is to massage with your fingertips, not your nails, and don't rub vigorously. Use a light circular motion for 5 minutes; it actually helps blood flow and strengthens roots over time.
