Does saw palmetto help with hair loss?

I've been experiencing a lot of hair thinning recently, and it's making me quite self-conscious. I heard that saw palmetto might help with hair loss. Is this true, or just another internet remedy?

Honestly, please be very careful with saw palmetto. I tried taking it last year without asking anyone and ended up getting bad stomach aches and extreme fatigue. Please consult a proper trichologist or dermatologist first before putting such supplements in your body.

At my age, I have seen so many hair fall remedies come and go. I used saw palmetto capsules for about six months a few years back and noticed it only slowed down the shedding slightly, but didn't grow back new hair. Don't expect miracles from it, but yes, it has a very mild effect.

I tried it for three months, yaar, but actually nothing major happened. My hair fall stayed exactly the same and my scalp got a bit dry too. Maybe it works for some people but for me it was just a waste of money honestly.

With my PCOS, I read that saw palmetto acts as a natural DHT blocker, so I asked my gynae about it. She told me it can sometimes mess with hormone levels, so we decided not to risk it. If you have any hormonal issues, definitely run it by your doctor first.

These external supplements might help a little, but hair health starts from within. I used saw palmetto oil for some time, but I found much better results when I combined basic scalp massage with daily Kapalbhati and regular pranayama to improve blood circulation.
