Does salt water help tooth pain?

My husband has a nagging toothache, and he's not one to visit the dentist quickly. My mother always said to rinse with warm salt water for tooth pain. Does this remedy really work to provide relief?

It can give temporary relief from inflammation, but it won't fix a cavity. When my tooth was hurting, I kept up my clean diet but still had to visit the dentist to get the real issue sorted out.

I was up till 4 AM last night with a throbbing tooth and tried the salt water thing. It felt okay for exactly five minutes, and then the pain came back with a vengeance. Go see a dentist, home remedies won't save your sleep!

Oh no, tooth pain is the absolute worst! Try rinsing with warm salt water for some quick relief right now, but don't stress too much, just make a quick call to your dentist tomorrow to get it checked.

Warm salt water rinse is a well-known home remedy to reduce bacteria and ease discomfort temporarily. However, it cannot cure the underlying dental issue. It is always best to seek a professional dentist's advice for proper treatment.

Gargling with salt water is fine, but make sure you don't swallow it, especially if you have high BP like me. Also, please get your teeth checked by a doctor rather than just relying on this daily.

Honestly, warm salt water gargles only help soothe mild gum swelling for a few hours. If you have actual tooth pain, it is likely an infection or cavity. Skip the home hacks and book a dentist appointment today.
