Does rogaine make your hair fall out?

I just started using Rogaine for my receding hairline, and initially, it feels like more hair is falling out than before! My brother said this sometimes happens. Does Rogaine actually make your hair fall out initially, or should I be worried?

It can cause temporary shedding in the first few weeks as old hairs make way for new ones. However, if the hair fall is extremely heavy or accompanied by severe scalp redness and burning, please stop using it and get it checked by a dermatologist for safety.

It is so heartbreaking to see even more hair in the drain when you started the medicine to save it. I cried so many times during the 'dread shed' phase. Please stay strong, it is a sign that the medicine is working and it does get better.

Yes bro, it totally does in the starting! I panicked so much in the first month because my hair fall actually got worse. But my doctor said it is normal shedding, and after 2 months, new hair started growing back.

Haha, yes, it makes you look like a bald eagle first before giving you a lion's mane! It's just the 'dread shed' where weak hairs pack their bags and leave. Don't worry, they are just making space for the stronger ones!

Initial shedding is very common with Rogaine. But since hair loss can also be linked to thyroid changes, make sure you are getting your thyroid tests done regularly. Always keep your dermatologist and physician updated about the rate of hair fall.

Old leaves must fall for new ones to grow, beta. This is just nature's way. Do not let anxiety take over your mind. Keep a positive outlook and let the treatment work in its own time.

The shedding is just a temporary phase of clearing out weak roots. Along with this, regular practice of Balayam (rubbing nails) and headstand-prep postures can help improve blood flow to your scalp. Be gentle with your body.
