Does rhapontic rhubarb cause weight gain?

I've been taking a supplement with rhapontic rhubarb for menopause symptoms, hoping it would help. However, I've noticed I'm putting on weight lately. Could rhapontic rhubarb be responsible for this weight gain?

From what I have read, there is no direct evidence linking rhapontic rhubarb to weight gain; it is usually used for menopause symptoms. However, since it affects hormones, it is best to ask your gynecologist or endocrinologist before starting it.

I have seen some practitioners take this herb for cooling the body. In my experience, weight changes usually happen due to digestion issues or stress. If you combine your supplements with daily pranayama, your body's metabolism will naturally stay balanced.

When my thyroid levels fluctuated, I started gaining weight and suspected every new supplement I took. If you are experiencing sudden weight gain, it is better to get your TSH and basic blood profile checked rather than just blaming the rhubarb.

I was taking a supplement containing this for stomach issues recently. I actually did not gain any weight at all while using it. But everyone's body reacts differently, so keep an eye on your diet too.

Honestly, weight gain mostly comes down to calories in versus calories out. If your doctor has cleared you to use rhapontic rhubarb, just pair it with 45 minutes of brisk walking daily. That should easily keep your weight in check.
