Does removal of gall bladder cause weight gain?

My doctor told me I need to get my gallbladder removed soon because of constant issues. My aunt had it done years ago and gained a lot of weight afterward. Does gallbladder removal surgery typically cause weight gain in patients?

Please don't delay your surgery or ignore symptoms because of the fear of weight gain. I ignored my gallbladder pain for months and it turned into a massive infection, which was a nightmare. Go for your regular checkups and let the doctor decide what is best.

After my surgery, my digestion changed a bit and I felt bloated, which seemed like weight gain. I started practicing gentle Kapalbhati and Vajrasana after consulting my doctor, which helped my digestion immensely. Give your body time to heal naturally.

I lost my mind when I gained 3 kgs right after my gallbladder removal last year. But honestly, it was just temporary water weight and the body adjusting to how it processes fats now. Once I settled into a routine, my weight went back to normal, so don't panic.

It can happen because the liver now drips bile continuously, which alters fat digestion. I used to drink warm water with a little lemon in the morning and avoided heavy oily foods completely. Taking small, light meals is the best natural way to keep your weight and digestion in check.

Honestly, weight gain only happens if you go back to eating high-fat fried foods too quickly after surgery. Since the gallbladder is gone, your body struggles with heavy fats initially. Stick to lean protein, complex carbs, and keep up with light cardio, and you won't gain any fat.

I had my gallbladder removed five years ago and was also worried about weight gain because of my high blood pressure. I managed it by doing regular health checkups and modifying my lifestyle to include low-sodium, low-fat foods. Just keep monitoring your health parameters regularly.
