Does propranolol cause hair loss?

I've been on Propranolol for my anxiety for about six months now, and I've started noticing my hair thinning quite a bit. I'm worried it might be a side effect of the medication. Has anyone else experienced hair loss from Propranolol?

Beta, some medicines like beta blockers can occasionally cause hair thinning. Along with taking your doctor's medicine, you can try washing your hair with amla and shikakai, but never stop your heart or BP medication without asking your doctor first.

Yes, propranolol can sometimes cause hair shedding as a side effect. Practicing cooling pranayamas like Sheetali and keeping your mind calm can help manage the stress that often makes hair fall worse during medical treatments.

Propranolol-induced hair loss is known as telogen effluvium, where hair goes into a resting phase prematurely. It is usually temporary, but you must consult your cardiologist or physician before making any changes to your prescription.

While managing your blood pressure with propranolol, hair thinning can occasionally occur. To support your hair health from within, make sure you are getting enough iron and protein from a clean vegetarian diet containing sprouts, spinach, and nuts.

I was on propranolol for anxiety for a few months and honestly, I did notice my hair getting a bit thinner. I talked to my doctor and he switched me to another option, and the hair fall stopped after that.

Please be very careful. I once stopped a blood pressure medication suddenly because of hair fall, and my heart rate spiked dangerously. Always see your doctor to discuss alternatives safely instead of stopping it on your own.

Don't blindly trust people selling miracle hair oils or home remedies for drug-induced hair loss. Propranolol is a serious prescription medicine, so consult your doctor directly to see if the dosage can be adjusted or changed.
