Does prolia cause weight gain?

My mother is on Prolia for her bone density. She's been complaining about feeling heavier and has put on some kilos. Could Prolia be causing her to gain weight, or is it just her age?

It is so hard to watch your body change and put on weight when you are already dealing with health issues. I felt so down when my weight went up, but realizing it's a common struggle with these medications helped me be gentler with myself. You are not alone in this.

Weight gain is listed as a potential side effect for some people taking Prolia. Please try not to worry too much, as keeping a gentle eye on your daily routine and discussing it with your physician can help manage it.

I can understand how frustrating it is to worry about weight gain while managing your bone health. Try tracking your meals and doing light walks daily, but definitely have an honest chat with your doctor if you notice sudden changes.

Yes, some weight changes can happen on Prolia. A practical approach is to cut down on extra sugars and fried foods in your daily home cooking and maintain a regular physical routine, like a 30-minute evening walk.

At this age, it feels like even drinking water causes weight gain, and these bone medicines don't make it any easier! Yes, Prolia can lead to some weight gain, but I guess we just have to laugh it off, walk a bit more, and let the doctors do their job.
