Does pregnancy make you cold?

I'm in my first trimester and I feel cold all the time, even when the room temperature is quite warm. I'm wondering if pregnancy can make you feel cold more often.

I was actually researching this yesterday because my sister keeps asking for a blanket even when the AC is off. It seems hormonal changes and a shifting basal body temperature can make some women feel chills instead of the usual hot flashes. Quite interesting how the body reacts!

Feeling cold can sometimes be linked to anemia or thyroid fluctuations, which are very common during pregnancy. Don't waste time guessing; just get your routine blood tests done to check your iron levels. It is a quick fix once you know the exact cause.

Honestly, I felt freezing cold during my first trimester while everyone else was sweating. It is just your hormones fluctuating wildly. Keep a light jacket handy at work and get your thyroid checked just to rule out any underlying issues.

During my time, elders used to say if you feel cold, you should drink warm milk with a little ginger or kesar. It is just your body adjusting to the new life growing inside. Rest well and keep your feet covered with soft socks.

I have been shivering every evening even though it is quite warm outside right now. I am constantly worried if this is normal or if it means something is wrong with my blood circulation. Did any of you also feel this cold in your early weeks?

My wife literally turned our bedroom into Antarctica during her pregnancy, shivering one minute and wanting the fan at full speed the next. Just buy a couple of extra sweaters and accept that your room's remote control belongs to her now!
