Does pregnancy cause bloody nose?

I'm in my second trimester, and I've started getting nosebleeds occasionally, which never happened before my pregnancy. Is it normal for pregnancy to cause bloody noses like this?

Look, the increased blood circulation during pregnancy makes the tiny blood vessels inside your nose swell and burst easily. It is fairly common, so don't panic. Just pinch the soft part of your nose and lean slightly forward, but if it doesn't stop in 10-15 minutes, go straight to a doctor.

Oh, please don't stress too much, dear! Seeing blood can be super scary, but it’s actually just because of the extra blood flow in your body right now. Try keeping a small humidifier in your room to prevent your nasal passage from getting too dry, especially at night.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to suddenly see blood like that, I literally cried the first time it happened to me. I thought something was terribly wrong with my baby. But my gynaecologist reassured me it's just the dry air and swollen veins, which made me feel so much better.

While it can be normal, frequent nosebleeds can also sometimes be linked to high blood pressure during pregnancy. My wife had this issue and we had to monitor her BP twice a day. Make sure you bring this up with your doctor during your next prenatal visit and get your pressure checked.

Yes, the blood volume in your body increases by almost 50% during pregnancy, putting extra pressure on delicate capillaries. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids and eating vitamin-C rich foods to support blood vessel health. Also, keep your workouts low-impact and avoid heavy straining.

I had a couple of nosebleeds during my second trimester, and my doctors at the hospital were very thorough about checking it. They advised me not to use any medicated nasal sprays on my own. You should definitely mention it clearly to your doctor so they can examine your nasal passage safely.
