Does prazosin cause weight gain?

My doctor recently prescribed prazosin for my blood pressure. I'm worried about gaining weight, as I've heard some medications can cause it. Can prazosin lead to weight gain?

I totally get it, worrying about weight when starting a new pill is really stressful. Fortunately, prazosin is not typically known to cause weight gain, though some people might experience minor fluid retention.

In our family, we always focus on eating home-cooked meals to manage weight. But for medicines like prazosin, it is best to follow your physician's advice as they understand your health best.

My husband took prazosin for his BP for many years. From our experience, there was no weight gain at all. Just stay active and eat simple food.

Prazosin is mainly for blood pressure and won't put on fat. Just avoid salty pickles and papad to prevent any water retention in the legs, which sometimes looks like weight gain.

Do not worry about weight gain with prazosin. Just keep a regular check on your diet, walk for 30 minutes every day, and monitor your blood pressure regularly.
