Does postpartum hair loss get worse with each pregnancy?

After my first baby, I experienced significant postpartum hair loss, which was quite distressing. We're now planning for a second child, and I'm anxious. Does postpartum hair loss get worse with each pregnancy?

It feels so disheartening to see clumps of hair falling out. In my experience with my second kid, the shedding was similar, but eating curry leaves daily and using a mild onion juice scalp mask helped my regrowth. Don't worry, just focus on keeping your scalp healthy and eating well.

It doesn't necessarily get worse every time, but your body's nutritional reserves might be lower during the second or third pregnancy. I strongly suggest getting a full blood panel done to check your iron and thyroid levels. Better to let a doctor diagnose the exact cause.

Biologically, postpartum shedding is just due to falling estrogen levels, which happens after every delivery. It doesn't automatically double in severity with the next baby, but nutritional deficiencies can make it seem worse. Consulting your gynecologist or a dermatologist is the best way to address it.

I have three children and honestly, the hair fall was different each time depending on how tired I was. By the third one, I knew it was temporary and didn't stress, and my hair came back just fine within a year. Give your body time to heal, this phase will pass.

I am pregnant with my first baby and I'm already so scared of this happening to me. Does the hair loss start immediately after delivery, or does it take a few months? I would really appreciate some guidance on what to expect.

The stress of managing multiple kids can definitely impact your hair health and make shedding feel worse. Practicing gentle pranayama and neck stretches daily helped improve blood circulation to my scalp after my second delivery. Keeping your mind calm is just as important as good food.
