Does plaquenil cause weight gain?

Recently started taking Plaquenil for my autoimmune condition. I've noticed a significant increase in my weight since then. Is weight gain a known side effect of this medicine, kya?

Actually, Plaquenil is usually not linked to weight gain; some people even lose a little appetite on it. If you are gaining weight, it might just be those extra midnight snacks or comfort food cravings, haha. Keep an eye on your diet!

Most doctors say weight gain is not a common side effect of Plaquenil. However, you should still budget for regular blood and eye tests while on this medication, as those checkups are absolutely necessary for long-term safety.

Planquenil itself doesn't cause weight gain based on what medical studies show. If you feel like your weight is creeping up, focus on keeping your daily steps high and maintaining a clean, balanced diet with enough protein.

I have been on Plaquenil for my lupus for over two years now and I didn't experience any weight gain at all. Most rheumatologists will tell you that weight fluctuations are usually due to steroids like Prednisone if you are taking them alongside. Discuss this clearly with your doctor.

I just finished a course of treatment involving Plaquenil recently. Honestly, I didn't put on any weight at all, but my doctor had warned me about mild stomach upset initially. Make sure you take it with food to avoid any nausea.
