Does pepcid cause hair loss?

I've been taking Pepcid for a few months now for my acid reflux. Lately, I've noticed my hair thinning quite a bit. Could Pepcid be causing hair loss as a side effect?

I actually started taking Pepcid recently for my severe acidity issues. I have been noticing a bit more hair on my comb lately, but I'm not sure if it is just normal seasonal fall or because of this medicine. Have any of you noticed hair fall starting immediately after taking it, or does it take some weeks to show?

Mere saath bhi same problem chal rahi thi, my hair started thinning out out of nowhere when I was on daily antacids. Honestly, once I spoke to my doctor and tapered off Pepcid, my hair fall reduced significantly within a month. It was definitely the medicine in my case, so please check with your doctor for alternative options.

Honestly, I took Pepcid for almost three months last year for my gastric issues. I personally did not face any hair loss during that entire time, my hair remained completely fine. But everyone's body reacts differently to these medicines, so it is best to ask a professional.

I had to take these antacids because my love for spicy biryani and street food was giving me terrible chest burns! I didn't see any hair fall, thankfully, but my doc told me to cut down on the heavy masalas instead of relying on pills daily. Best decision ever, now my hair and stomach are both happy!

If you suspect Pepcid is causing your hair to fall, don't buy expensive hair serums or oils to fix it. Just get a basic blood test done first to see if you have any vitamin deficiencies like B12 or iron. Often, acidity meds can affect nutrient absorption, so fixing your diet is the most practical first step.

Listen, don't stress yourself out so much by searching everything on the internet. While some people do report mild thinning with long-term antacids, it's not very common and is usually reversible. Just relax, eat your meals on time, and have a quiet chat with your physician about this.

Beta, modern medicines can sometimes have weird side effects if taken for too long without supervision. Try to focus on your gut health naturally by drinking warm water and eating light home-cooked meals. A spoon of fennel seeds after dinner can also help calm your stomach so you can reduce these strong pills slowly.

I always prefer managing my acidity with buttermilk or cold milk instead of popping pills daily. But if your reflux is so bad that you absolutely need Pepcid, please consult your doctor before stopping it. Sudden stopping can make your acidity much worse, which is also bad for your overall health.
