Does pcos facial hair go away?

The facial hair has been one of the most frustrating symptoms of my PCOS. I'm trying different treatments, but I want to know if there's hope. Does PCOS facial hair ever go away permanently, or is it something that requires continuous management?

My daughter was very upset about her facial hair due to PCOS. We learned that while the hair doesn't just disappear on its own, managing her hormones with the doctor's help slowed down new growth significantly. For the existing hair, she safely gets laser treatment done.

Facial hair, or hirsutism, is caused by elevated male hormones called androgens in PCOS. While cosmetic treatments like laser or electrolysis remove existing hair, you must consult an endocrinologist to treat the hormonal cause, otherwise the hair will continue to grow back.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! It is super common with PCOS and so many of us deal with it daily. Once you get your hormones under control with your doc, the growth really slows down, and you can just use normal threading or laser to manage the rest.

Hormones like androgens are heavily influenced by insulin spikes, which come from processed foods. Eating a clean, high-fiber vegetarian diet can help stabilize your insulin levels, which in turn reduces new facial hair growth. Make sure to consult your dietitian for a proper plan.

I totally get it, dealing with facial hair can be so draining and can really hurt your self-esteem. It does get much finer and grows much slower once your hormone levels are balanced. Just be patient with yourself and your body during this treatment.

Honestly, I used to hate my upper lip and chin hair so much during my college lectures. But since I started my PCOS meds and diet, the growth has become way slower. It doesn't fully vanish, but it becomes much easier to handle with basic grooming.
