Does paxil cause weight gain?

My doctor prescribed Paxil for my anxiety, and I'm a bit concerned about potential side effects. I'm particularly worried about gaining weight, as I've struggled with it before. Is weight gain a common side effect of taking Paxil?

Oh my god, yes, I have been reading so many forums about this because I might start Paxil soon and I'm so anxious about weight gain. It seems quite common but I think if we monitor our meals early on it might help. Sending you so much support, we will get through this.

Yeah bro, it definitely made me put on a few kilos. My appetite just shot up after a few weeks of starting it. I had to hit the gym more consistently to keep it in check, so be prepared for that.

Yes, it can cause some weight gain! But honestly, feeling mentally peaceful is so much more important. You can always manage the weight with small walks and yummy healthy food. Don't worry too much! 😊

Yes, weight gain is a documented side effect of Paxil. If you are concerned, ask your psychiatrist for a weight-neutral alternative. Don't stop taking it abruptly on your own as that can cause severe withdrawal symptoms.

Actually yaar, Paxil is quite famous for causing some weight gain. It slows down metabolism for some and makes you crave carbs like crazy. Just talk to your doc once if you feel it's getting out of hand.
