Does paragard cause weight gain?

My doctor suggested Paragard as a birth control option, but I'm concerned about potential side effects. I'm trying to manage my weight and don't want anything that might make me gain more. Does the Paragard IUD cause weight gain?

Paragard is a copper-based, non-hormonal intrauterine device, so it does not cause weight gain. Any weight changes you experience are typically due to lifestyle factors, stress, or age-related metabolism shifts. It is best to consult your gynecologist to rule out other metabolic causes.

I completely understand why you are worried because any change in our bodies can cause so much stress and anxiety. When I got my IUD, I kept checking my weight every single day in fear. Since Paragard has no hormones, it won't cause weight gain, so please take a deep breath and relax.

I have been using Paragard for over two years now and I haven't noticed any weight gain at all. My periods got slightly heavier in the beginning, but my weight stayed exactly the same. Everyone's body reacts differently, but that has been my personal experience.

Hey! Paragard is actually hormone-free, so it shouldn't cause any weight gain like some hormonal pills do. It is super convenient because you don't have to worry about daily pills. If you are seeing changes, it might just be normal stress or water retention.

Our bodies are very sensitive to changes, so stay positive and do not worry too much. Since this device does not contain chemicals or hormones, it will not disturb your body's natural weight. Take care of your mental peace and eat wholesome meals.

I was actually helping my partner research birth control options and read a lot about Paragard. Since it is completely non-hormonal, clinical studies show it doesn't cause weight gain. Most doctors seem to prefer it for people who want to avoid hormonal side effects.

Scientifically, the copper IUD has zero hormones, so it has no direct link to fat storage or weight gain. If you are gaining weight, look at your daily calorie intake, stress levels, and workout routine. Just keeping up with consistent strength training will help you manage it easily.

I am thinking of getting this done but I am a bit scared about the pain. People say it is non-hormonal so it won't make you gain weight, which is good. Does the insertion process hurt a lot in the beginning?

I am up late trying to find excuses for my current weight, but unfortunately, we can't blame Paragard! It has no hormones, so the extra weight is definitely just my midnight snacks. It's a solid choice if you want to avoid hormonal weight gain.
