Does ozempic affect thyroid levels?

I'm taking Ozempic for my diabetes, and I also have a history of thyroid issues. I was wondering if this medication can interfere with my thyroid levels or require adjustments to my thyroid medication.

Yes, it has a black box warning for thyroid C-cell tumors, so consult your doctor before starting if you have thyroid issues.

Just when I thought I only had to worry about my sugar, now thyroid is also in the picture! Yes, there is some serious warning about thyroid tumors with Ozempic. Best to let the doctor handle these complicated decisions.

Having PCOS, I have to be so careful with any hormonal or metabolic treatments. Since Ozempic has warnings related to thyroid cells, I've decided to stick to close monitoring with my doctor before trying anything. Please prioritize your safety and get proper tests.

Actually, yaar, there is a strict warning about thyroid tumors on the packaging itself. If you already have thyroid issues or a family history, you should be super careful and discuss it with your specialist first.

Hey, don't stress too much! While there is a warning about thyroid, it is mostly for a rare type of thyroid cancer, not standard hypo or hyperthyroid. Just mention your family history to your doc to be totally safe.

My endocrinologist noted that Ozempic is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. It doesn't typically alter standard TSH levels, but safety screening is mandatory.
