Does oily scalp cause hair fall?

I've always had an oily scalp, and lately I'm seeing a lot more hair falling out. My barber said it could be related to the oily scalp, maybe blocking follicles. Is there a genuine link between an oily scalp and increased hair fall?

I used to have an extremely greasy scalp and experienced heavy hair fall whenever I let the oil build up. Once I started washing my hair more frequently to clear the sebum, my shedding reduced drastically. That is just what worked for me personally.

Washing your hair with water infused with neem leaves can help control excess oil and soothe your scalp naturally. However, if your hair fall is very heavy and doesn't stop with home remedies, it is best to consult a dermatologist to find the root cause.

I panicked so much when I saw extra hair on my comb and thought my oily scalp was ruining my hair forever. My doctor assured me that some oiliness is completely normal and a gentle wash routine is all it takes. Once I stopped stressing, my hair fall actually reduced on its own.

At my age, my scalp produces enough oil to power a small engine, and yes, my hair is thinning too. It's a classic combination of age and grease blocking the remaining roots. Just wash it regularly and accept that some shedding is part of life's comedy.

I ignored my greasy, itchy scalp for a year thinking it was normal, until I lost a massive amount of hair due to a fungal infection called seborrheic dermatitis. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Go see a skin doctor and get a proper medicated shampoo before it gets worse.
