Does not eating cause weight gain?

I've been trying to lose weight by reducing my food intake, sometimes skipping meals. But instead of losing, I feel like I'm actually gaining weight. Someone told me that not eating enough can trick your body into holding onto fat. Is this true? Can not eating actually cause weight gain?

I have been skipping dinner to lose weight, but I feel more bloated now and the scale hasn't budged. Is it true that the body starts storing fat if we don't eat enough? If anyone knows about this, please guide me.

When you don't eat, your metabolism slows down, and then you might end up overeating later. Instead of skipping meals and risking health issues, it is much cheaper to plan your home meals properly than spending money on doctor visits and blood tests later. Stick to simple home food.

Skipping meals puts your body into starvation mode, which actually drops your metabolic rate. When you finally eat, your body stores it as fat because it doesn't know when the next meal is coming. Eat regular balanced meals with good protein to keep your metabolism active.

When I was diagnosed with high BP, I tried skipping meals to lose weight quickly, but my health only got worse and weight actually went up due to stress. Regular doctor checkups and a steady eating routine helped stabilize both my BP and my weight. Avoid these extreme fasting habits.

I totally get it, you think you are doing the right thing by skipping food to lose weight, and then the weight scale shows the opposite! It is so frustrating. But trust me, eating small portions of healthy food every few hours is what actually helps your body release the weight.

I was reading some research papers on this. It seems that when we skip meals, our insulin sensitivity can get messed up, leading to fat storage, especially around the belly. It is quite fascinating how our body's survival mechanism actually works against weight loss when we starve.

When we starve our body, we create internal stress which increases cortisol, the stress hormone that leads to fat accumulation. Through yoga and timely, mindful eating, I have seen many people restore their natural weight balance. Treat your body with love, not starvation.

While metabolic adaptation can happen with long-term starvation, sudden unexplained weight gain should always be discussed with a doctor. It is safer to get a basic thyroid panel and blood tests done to rule out any underlying issues rather than guessing.

I tried severe calorie restriction last year and ended up with severe nutritional deficiencies and severe gallbladder issues. My metabolism got so damaged that I started gaining weight even with tiny meals. Please don't experiment with starving, consult a proper nutritionist.

A balanced vegetarian diet with proper fiber and protein keeps your blood sugar stable. When you don't eat, your body craves quick energy, leading to high-calorie junk food binging later. Consistent, clean eating is the only sustainable way to manage weight.
