Does nebivolol cause hair loss?

I've been on Nebivolol for my blood pressure for a few months now. Lately, I've noticed my hair thinning considerably. Could my medication be the cause? Does Nebivolol cause hair loss?

Yes, hair thinning is a documented but rare side effect of some beta-blockers like nebivolol. However, do not stop taking your heart medication abruptly as that can be highly dangerous. Talk to your cardiologist about switching if it bothers you.

Haan na, some BP medicines can cause hair fall, my uncle faced the same issue. But please don't stop taking it on your own. Ask your doctor first, health is more important than hair, right?

Haan, beta-blockers se hair thinning ho sakti hai occasionally. But heart health aur BP control karna zyaada zaroori hai na? Apne doctor se baat karo, woh koi alternative likh denge.

I had some hair thinning when I started nebivolol. My doctor adjusted the dose slightly and suggested taking biotin supplements, which helped. Make sure you don't self-manage this, always run it by your cardiologist.

When my doctor put me on nebivolol, he mentioned that telogen effluvium (temporary shedding) can occasionally happen with beta-blockers. He emphasized that it is usually reversible and advised me never to stop the medication without a proper clinical transition plan.

I know how stressful hair thinning can be since I deal with it due to my PCOS. While some blood pressure medicines can cause shedding, please consult your doctor before making any changes. Managing your primary health is always the main priority.

Our body sometimes reacts to strong medicines, but we must stay positive and peaceful. Keep your diet nourishing and practice gentle breathing. Do consult your doctor to see if the medicine can be adjusted safely.

Don't trust random advice on forums when it comes to prescription blood pressure drugs. If you suspect your hair loss is linked to nebivolol, verify this directly with your prescribing physician. Stopping it on your own can be risky.
