Does.mounjaro cause hair loss?

For my Type 2 diabetes, I've been on Mounjaro for a few months, and it's really helping with blood sugar and weight. Lately though, I've noticed my hair thinning quite a bit. Is hair loss a common side effect of Mounjaro, or should I be worried about something else?

When I consulted my endocrinologist at Medanta, he told me that rapid weight loss from medications like Mounjaro can trigger temporary hair shedding, known as telogen effluvium. It's not the drug itself damaging the hair follicles, but the quick body change. You should ask your doctor clearly about this before starting.

Ha haan, jab sharir ka wajan tezi se ghat ta hai toh baal thode jhadne lagte hain. Aap bilkul chinta mat kariye, bas apne khane mein thoda dahi aur dalia zaroor shamil karein. Doctor babu se pooch kar koi achhi taqat ki goli bhi le sakte hain.

Don't start applying random homemade onion juices or oils to stop hair loss if you are on Mounjaro. This is a hormonal and metabolic medication, so any side effects must be discussed only with your treating doctor. Let them run a blood test first.

I am already losing my mind and my sleep due to work stress, and now my hair wants to leave my head too! Honestly, the massive weight drop on Mounjaro is great, but the sudden hair fall is definitely a shocker. Keep some gentle shampoo ready.

My mother suggested applying homemade curry leaves oil to control my hair shedding while on Mounjaro. It gave some soothing effect, but my doctor explained that the hair fall is just due to rapid weight loss and will stabilize. I suggest trusting your doctor's advice on nutrition.

As someone managing thyroid issues, I know how easily hair loss can be triggered by hormonal changes or sudden diet shifts. If you are on Mounjaro, make sure you get regular blood tests done to check your thyroid and vitamin levels. Always follow up with your doctor before assuming it's just a normal side effect.

Mounjaro is already a very expensive treatment, and spending more on hair clinics can upset your monthly budget. Instead of buying costly hair serums, just get a basic CBC and Iron profile test done for 500-600 rupees. Show the reports to your doctor to see if you need simple, cheap multi-vitamins.
