Does motrin damage liver?

I've been taking Motrin for my chronic back pain for a few months now, on and off. My brother warned me about potential side effects on the liver. Does Motrin damage the liver with prolonged use?

My father always warned me against taking too many tablets, but my doctor cleared up the confusion. He said Motrin, which is ibuprofen, is actually processed by the kidneys, not the liver. So it is the kidneys and stomach you have to be careful about, though taking too much of any medicine is bad.

Bro, Motrin is ibuprofen, so it's mostly tough on your stomach lining and kidneys if you take it too much. If you're worried about liver damage, that's usually from paracetamol overdoses, but don't abuse either of them.

Actually, Motrin doesn't damage the liver under normal doses, yaar. It can cause acidity or kidney strain if you take it on an empty stomach. If you have any liver issues already, just ask your doc before popping one.

My liver has survived years of spicy street food, so a couple of Motrin tablets won't hurt it easily. Jokes aside, it's the stomach ulcers you need to worry about with this one. Always eat a proper meal before taking it.

Since it is processed through the kidneys and can irritate the stomach, I avoid taking Motrin altogether. I prefer treating minor pains with warm ginger water and a light, easily digestible vegetarian diet.
