Does miralax cause weight gain?

I've been using Miralax occasionally for my digestive issues. Lately, I've noticed a slight weight fluctuation, and I'm wondering if it could be related. Does Miralax cause weight gain as a side effect?

Don't stress too much about this! Miralax is just a laxative that passes through your system, it doesn't have any calories to make you gain weight. If you feel a bit bloated, it is just temporary water weight.

No, it does not cause any weight gain. It actually helps relieve bloating once your system is cleared.

Haha, if laxatives caused weight gain, my fitness journey would have ended long ago! Don't worry, it only clears your bowels and has nothing to do with body fat.

Beta, these modern medicines do not cause weight gain. But relying on them daily is not good for your digestive system. Try to drink warm water and eat soaked raisins instead.

I asked my gastroenterologist about this during my treatment. He explained that Miralax is not absorbed by the body, so it cannot cause fat gain. Any scale weight changes are just due to shift in fluid levels.
