Does minoxidil make your hair fall out?

I've been using Minoxidil for quite some time now to prevent hair loss, but lately, I feel like I'm shedding more hair than before. It seems counterintuitive. Does Minoxidil sometimes make your hair fall out initially, or is this a bad sign?

I ignored my initial hair thinning and then panicked when my hair started shedding rapidly after using minoxidil. I stopped it immediately, which was a mistake because that shedding is actually normal. Please consult a dermatologist first before starting or stopping.

It can cause some temporary shedding in the first few weeks, which is called the shedding phase. Instead of wasting money on expensive shampoos to stop it, just stick to the routine. It gets better and is cost-effective in the long run.

Dude, I also got scared when my sink was full of hair in the first two weeks of using minoxidil. I asked my senior and he said it's totally normal. Now after four months, my hair is actually looking much thicker.

Haan, shuru me thoda hair fall badh jata hai, use 'dread shedding' bolte hain. But ghabrao mat, purane kamzor baal girte hain taaki naye acche baal aa sakein na. Just keep using it patiently.

Yes, minoxidil can trigger a temporary shedding phase as it pushes resting hair follicles into the active growth stage. However, if the shedding continues beyond 6 weeks, you should definitely check back with your dermatologist to rule out other issues.
