Does minocycline cause weight gain?

I've been prescribed Minocycline for my acne, and I'm really looking forward to clearer skin. However, I'm always cautious about medication side effects. Does minocycline cause weight gain that I should be aware of?

I took minocycline for my skin issues for about two months and did not face any weight changes. Please try not to worry too much about this. Just focus on your health and eat your meals on time.

When we take antibiotics, our gut health can get a bit disturbed, which sometimes causes bloating that feels like weight gain. I always keep my diet very clean and take a light probiotic curd to keep my digestion and sugars in control.

If you are noticing sudden weight changes after starting minocycline, please report it to your prescribing doctor. It might be due to water retention or something else entirely. It is always safest to let your doctor decide.

Usually, antibiotics don't directly cause fat gain. If you feel a bit heavier, it could just be mild water retention or sluggish gut flora. Keep up with your daily walks and drink plenty of water to keep things moving.

Haha, don't blame the medicine for those extra samosas! Minocycline is just an antibiotic, it won't make you gain weight unless you are comforting yourself with sweets. Relax and complete your course!
