Does medicare pay for cancer treatment?

My brother was recently diagnosed with cancer, and the treatment costs are astronomical. We have a good family health insurance plan. Does anyone know if health insurance in India generally covers the full spectrum of cancer treatment expenses?

Yes, standard medical insurance definitely covers cancer treatments like chemotherapy and surgery under inpatient care. Just make sure the hospital is in your policy's network for cashless claims. Keep all your reports and doctor prescriptions handy for easy approval.

As someone managing long-term health issues, I know how critical insurance is. Most basic plans do pay for cancer treatments in registered hospitals. Just double-check your policy limits and copay clauses so you don't face sudden financial surprises.

We panicked so much about the costs when my relative was diagnosed, but the cashless insurance worked smoothly at the hospital. Most major treatments like chemo are covered. Just coordinate closely with the hospital's insurance desk from day one.

Treatment for such critical illnesses is indeed covered by standard health plans, which brings some peace of mind. Along with the medical treatment, practicing gentle breathing and keeping a calm mind helps immensely in healing. God bless you.
