Does medicare cover weight loss drugs for sleep apnea?

My husband has sleep apnea, and the doctor said losing weight could help immensely. We were exploring different options, including weight loss drugs. Will our current health insurance cover these drugs if they are prescribed for sleep apnea management?

I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, but I can tell you that insurance companies also seem to sleep on covering weight loss drugs, even for sleep apnea. They still call these lifestyle meds, so prepare to pay out of pocket. Looks like we have to stick to heavy snoring and standard therapy!

Please do not ignore severe snoring or try self-medicating with weight loss drugs, as I ignored my sleep apnea for years and faced serious heart issues. Since these drugs aren't covered anyway, please go straight to a specialist and get a proper clinical sleep study and treatment plan.

Standard health insurance policies do not cover weight loss drugs, even if you have sleep apnea. A practical solution is to focus on getting a covered CPAP machine therapy through your doctor and managing your diet with simple, home-cooked food to reduce weight naturally.

No, standard medical plans do not cover weight loss drugs for sleep apnea. It is better to check if they cover the CPAP machine or diagnostic sleep tests instead.

Back in our days, simple living and light dinner before sunset was the way to handle sleep issues. Modern policies do not cover these expensive weight loss drugs, even if sleep apnea is present. Don't worry too much about expensive medicines, a disciplined routine can work wonders.
