Does mane and tail cause hair loss?

I've been using Mane 'n Tail shampoo for a few months now because everyone raved about it for hair growth. But recently, I've noticed more hair falling out than usual. Can this shampoo actually cause hair loss instead of helping?

I completely understand how terrifying it is to see chunks of hair in the shower and worry about your shampoo. I went through the same phase with Mane and Tail. It can make hair feel dry and break easily because of the heavy protein, which feels like hair loss.

Don't stress, it does not cause permanent hair loss. It is a very strong protein shampoo, so if you use it daily without a good moisturizer, your hair might get brittle and snap. Just switch to a mild, regular shampoo and see a dermatologist if the shedding continues.

I tried that shampoo when it was trending, but honestly, our traditional aloe vera and hibiscus pack worked much better. Mane and Tail is very strong and can strip natural oils, leading to breakage. Try stopping it for a month and use gentle home oils instead.

I have seen this question quite a few times here. Mane and Tail was made for horses, so it is highly concentrated with proteins that can make human hair stiff and prone to breaking if not washed out completely. Switch to a normal baby shampoo for a few weeks to let your scalp recover.

Hair health is closely linked to blood circulation and diet, not just the shampoo you use. While you should stop Mane and Tail if it is causing breakage, also try incorporating a daily 30-minute jog or walk. Increasing physical activity really helps deliver nutrients to your hair follicles.

When my hair fall got worse, I went to a proper skin clinic instead of guessing. The doctor clearly told me that heavy protein shampoos like Mane and Tail are not suitable for all hair types and can cause buildup. It is best to let a specialist examine your scalp.

My mother always tells me to use shikakai and coconut oil for hair health, but I tried Mane and Tail out of curiosity. It made my scalp very dry and itchy. I consulted my dermatologist, and he advised me to stick to mild, sulphate-free shampoos instead.
